8 Tips for Faster Felting

  1. Choose high quality needles.
  2. Use a multiple needle tool or hold two needles when starting.
  3. Star, star twisted or twisted are fast are working needles. See our fast mix
  4. Using a lower gauge needle to start, such as a 32 or 36 needle.
  5. Fold, roll and hold the wool firmly and tightly together before you start stabbing with the needle.
  6. Use a batt or carded sliver either as core wool or top wool as these felt very fast.
  7. Check your needle is sharp
  8. Take a break from felting, and come back to it afresh.
